The world we live in is constantly changing. These changes can bring wonderful things such as scientific revolutions or medical breakthroughs, but can also bring unemployment, drought, or social injustice. Azusa Pacific University recognizes the need to groom the next generation of innovators so that they may better contribute to the solution of the world’s obstacles.
Zuventurez is a university sponsored business plan competition that allows students the chance at winning $15,000 to help fund their business concept. In accordance with Azusa Pacific University’s Christ-centered worldview, it is suggested that the business concepts provide some type of social utility while still ensuring that they are for-profit businesses.
The competition begins with six weeks of workshops where participants attend lectures to meet active entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. From there finalists are selected and tasked with pitching their concept in front of a panel of judges. The final three teams then present at the finale to earn funding, with first place taking home the grand prize of $15,000 to fund their business.
