While traveling throughout Europe on vacation I was struck by how gorgeous some of the ancient literature on display was. It wasn't until I got back home that I realized many of these old folios follow a very similar principle. They were crafted using the golden ratio.
I wanted to explore this matter further, so I began researching historical page layout practices and found that putting the golden ratio into practice was actually quite simple as long as you adhered to a specific pattern (See GIF Below).
Just as the bookmakers in medieval times used the golden ratio in their page layouts to exalt their ancient and religious texts, I wanted to do something a bit different and use the golden ratio to raise up the words of some of my favorite moments in film via their original scripts.
